Have you ever tried taking your prompt words from a book full of Poe?  Eek!  I had to skip over the first few that I picked because I just wasn’t brave enough!  Today’s words are society, situation, and wretches and here’s my very short paragraph.

Her blank face said it all.  She sat staring into the darkness unable to move, unable to speak, unable to feel any longer.  She was just one of these wretches, stuck in this situation that society has condemned them to.  What was she to do?  What were any of them to do?  The will to fight was gone.  The will to live was gone.  The will to exist any longer — was gone.
