Ta Da Lists and Hippie Dabble

Every Sunday I look back at the week that has passed and forward at the week ahead.  Lately those weeks that have passed are all a blur.  I can’t remember what I did or if I accomplished anything.  Looking forward to the week ahead means checking the calendar for any important appointments and make a list of things I need to accomplish.  I think it works pretty well, but then again, the weeks are just a blur.

Some days when I’m lacking motivation I do a “ta da” list.  It’s a list of all the things I accomplish throughout the day no matter how small – “ate breakfast, showered, wrote one paragraph…”  I like to see how many I can get.  Maybe I need to start a ta da list for the week just as a reminder of what I did all week.  Or maybe I should keep a ta da list every day in one document for the week, with each day as a heading.  Then I can go back to that one document and review my week with all kinds of reminders as to what I did.

And as if my weeks weren’t enough of a blur, I’m about to do something silly.  I’m about to add more to my to do list.  But I have a project that keeps calling me back.  I had put this project aside, and it just keeps poking at me to come back.  It’s called Hippie Dabble, and as the name suggests, it’s all about being earth friendly and having inner peace.  There’s something about it that keeps saying, “this isn’t done yet.”  I think it has so much potential.

My husband says that the problem we both have is that we don’t stick with things long enough to see if they’ll take off.  We’re impatient and want success now.  I think he’s absolutely right.

I’m getting much better with time management.  I have been working hard to get all of my assignments completed on time while making a point to spend time with and enjoy my family.  I’ve squeezed in some writing and reading in between.  I’m not doing too bad.  I’m going to see if I can squeeze this in too.  Maybe I’m just the most content when I have lots going on all at once because when I try to slow down, it just doesn’t work out.

I’ll come back to these topics later and let you know how it’s going. In the meantime, you can check out Hippie Dabble at https://hippiedabble.com/ and read/sign up for the Hippie Dabble newsletter at https://hippiedabble.substack.com/ .
