It’s May Day! Crazy how fast time passes. A fourth of 2022 is gone, and 2023 will be here before we know it. Spring just started but winter is around the corner. Monday is tomorrow but Friday is a few blinks away. A little over half of class two is finished. It doesn’t sound like a lot but I know this will also go fast. Our youngest child, and only child still living with us, is 14 and even though I anticipate the teenage years to be rough, that too will go fast.
Time is a mind boggling concept, especially when the only actual time we have is right now. Saturday is gone and Monday doesn’t yet exist. There are two things I’ve made a habit of doing to cherish my now time. I like to take a mental note of what is special about right now – a smile, a bird’s song, a nice breeze across my face, a breathtaking color, the brilliance of a painting, the lyrical words in a book. It’s these little things that make life so amazing. When you can take note of them every day, your notes accumulate to make one wonderfully filled book of life, no matter what its length or messy composition. The other thing I like to do is ask myself, “What would future me say to current me?” or “What would future me appreciate that current me can accomplish?” It’s usually super helpful now and in the future.
With that, I’m going to grab my book and head to bed. I hope your day is filled with lots of wonderful, little notes and maybe something future you will thank you for!
