It’s June 1st already. I feel like I’m constantly remarking about how fast time is going. Does time go faster the older you get or is it all of us? Is time going faster for everyone lately? My daughter, who is in her 20’s has commented on the quick passage of time. Maybe it’s the times we live in. Everything is so fast and packed. No slowing down. No resting. No leisure. Maybe that’s what the great resignation is all about. The younger generation gets it, and they are telling all of us to stop, look around, and enjoy life.
Last night I stayed up way too late reading. It’s a good book. I’ll tell you about it when I finish it. I’m exhausted but I think it was time well spent. Slowing down. Leisure. Enjoy every little moment.
This morning the sun is just peaking over the horizon and my boy is already up talking. He just commented on how fast the school year has gone by. How strange – that’s exactly what I’m writing about. “Maybe it’s because there is so much going on,” he says.
“In the world?”
“Yeah.”
Maybe he’s right. Maybe the anxiety of a chaotic world is mounting.
